Diagnostic Tool for Android User's Guide


The Kawasaki Diagnostic Tool app for Android is available from the Google Play Store.

A Kawasaki EFI Diagnostic Systems kit 99969-6490 is required. Contact Kawasaki Engines for purchase.


Register the App - Enter your dealer information and hit Continue.





Pair the Interface

  • Connect the Engine Diagnostic Interface Cable to the Kawasaki Engine Interface (KEI) and connect to engine diagnostic connector. Turn ignition on and confirm the red light on the KEI blinks at 2 second intervals.
  • On your Android device, launch the app. The settings menu will be displayed. Navigate to the following: Settings->Connections->Bluetooth - scan for available devices.


  • Select the device that starts with KEI-#### and pair it.
  • NOTE: Only have one paired KEI device at a time. The app will automatically select the paired KEI device.




  • Identify the Engine

  • Return to the app and the engine identification screen will be displayed. Select one of the following methods to connect to the engine:


  • Select AUTOMATIC to automatically connect to the engine to identify it.
  • Select BARCODE to use your device's camera to scan the engine's barcode to identify it.
  • Select MANUAL to select the engine from a list.




  • The Main Menu

  • Once the engine has been identified, you can select an activity from the Main Menu:



  • TROUBLE CODES - Display or Clear codes.



  • LIVE DATA - Display live engine data. NOTE: Data recordings are done in the Data Archives section of the app.


  • All Available Data Items List

  • TESTS - Run diagnostic and component tests.



  • DATA ARCHIVES - Create and view data recordings.





  • REPORTS - Create, view, and submit service reports to Kawasaki. NOTE: Internet connection is required. Reports are saved to server.
